The BeeFriend is designed for some cavity-nesting wild bee species, especially mason bees in spring. In nature these wild bees nest in broken, hollow stalks of plants, feeding tunnels in dead wood or cracks in walls.

Mason bees like to nest in drilled hardwood holes (diameter 5-9 mm).
Smaller summer bees prefer the 3 and 4mm holes. The cardboard tubes are an alternative from the mason beekeeping and are gladly accepted.

Mason bees are extremely peaceful and do not sting. she nothing can disturb them and they are not interested in our food.
