Wild bees
peaceful pollinators with threatened habitats
Around 20,000 species of bees live around the world. There are in Germany:
- a honey bee species (Apis mellifera) with several subspecies
- 41 species of bumblebee (belong to the wild bees), 7 of which are widespread and
- approx. 560 Wild bee species.
Honey bees are used economically by us humans and kept as pets. You live with a queen in a state with a structured division of labor (e.g. stick, forager and guardian bees).
The produced stock of honey serves them as food in winter.
Honigbienen werden von uns Menschen wirtschaftlich genutzt und als Haustier gehalten. Sie leben mit einer Königin in einem Staat mit strukturierter Arbeitsteilung (z.B. Stock-, Sammler- und Wächterbienen).
Der produzierte Honigvorrat dient ihnen als Nahrung im Winter.

Wild bees are, as the name suggests, bees living in the wild. They are not feral honey bees that live in caves, rock niches or hollow trees.
Wild bees are wild animals in the wild and live with a few exceptions
e.g. bumblebees alone. They are called also solitary bees. So you lead a single life.
they are besides many other insects hardworking Pollinators of all Fruit trees and many other plants in the garden. Wild bees show no aggression and do not sting. Unlike wasps, wild bees are not at all interested in our food. They feed exclusively on Plant nectar.
Wildbienen sind Wildtiere in freier Natur und leben bis auf wenige Ausnahmen
z.B. Hummeln allein. Man nennt sie auch Solitärbienen. Sie führen also ein Singleleben.
Sie sind neben vielen anderen Insekten fleißige Bestäuber aller Obstbäume und vieler anderer Pflanzen im Garten. Wildbienen zeigen keinerlei Aggressionen und stechen nicht. Im Gegensatz zu Wespen interessieren sich Wildbienen überhaupt nicht für unsere Nahrungsmittel. Sie ernähren sich ausschließlich von Pflanzennektar.

Lebensweise
Die meisten Arten leben allein, als Solitärbienen.
Einige Arten bilden ein kleines Volk mit einer Königin, z.B. Hummeln.

Manche leben in einer Art Kommune oder WG und kümmern sich um den Nachwuchs gemeinsam z.B. Furchenbienen.

Most species live alone, as solitary bees.

Some live in a kind of commune or flat share and look after the offspring together, for example furrow bees.
Cuckoo bees use the finished nests of other bees and lay their own eggs on the supply while the female is on the move.
